Thanks BARK and Congrats to Marj & Chellie!
« on: February 25, 2013, 01:34:07 PM »
Thanks to BARK for hosting a really fun and relaxing trial this past weekend. This club does an outstanding job of making everyone feel welcome....and keeping us well fed and well rewarded with raffle prizes! A really nice venue for the dogs with lots of lawn areas to run and play.

A big congratulations to our friends and role models, Marj Ross and Chellie on achieving NATCH - 24. Yes, that is right, number 24! Really amazing what they can do on course.

It was a wonderful, fun, relaxed trial. Arlene Courtney brought great courses, the weather was perfect, and the food was, as always, superb. The icing on the cake was Marj and Chellie's NATCH 24! And the icing on that was the Ice Cream Cake the club brought to celebrate the event!  A perfect weekend. Looking forward to BARKing in 2014!

I, also, would like to thank the trial committee who worked so hard to make the BARK trial a fun enjoyable weekend!  I thoroughly enjoyed seeing friends, meeting new people, and trialing in the the Madera area!  Thank you, Arlene Courtney, for coming down to judge this weekend and keeping the trial low key and stress free!  There was a great group of people who pitched in to help and we were rewarded with great food and raffle hospitality all weekend.

Hearty congratulations Marj Ross and Chellie who earned  their NATCH-24!

Hope to see you all again next year same time, same place!

Congratulations Marj and Chellie!  A fun team to watch! I am glad I was there to celebrate!  The Purple NATCH ice cream cake was the bomb!!!
If you haven't had the opportunity to come one of the BARK trials in Madera, you are really missing out. A really nice laid back trial with great people and loads of food! The BARK members really out did themselves! Arlene brought some wonderful courses and we all had some great runs! With RV parking almost ringside, motel across the street, all next to some great shopping, it doesn't get any better than that!   I will definitely be coming back!  Super fun trial!

Who took the big group picture with Marj and Chellie?....I would like a copy to memorialize this wonderful event. Can someone email me a copy?

Well, I'm truly beaten to the punch - trying to catch up on neglected work I'm afraid.  But I must add my 2 cents, because so many people worked so hard to put on this (as always) magnificent trial. If you live anywhere near, you really are missing out if you don't join us next year - February 21-23 2014. A great site, RV parking right by the arena, nearby motel and stores - couldn't be better!

We are a small group so we all wear many hats to put on a trial. Debbie Kuykendall is a wonderful chair, always pleasant and helpful, no matter what potential problem arises.  Maudeen Martin keeps us all up to the mark and turns her hand to anything that needs doing (including filling all those tunnel bags - thank you Maudeen!) Sara McKinley looked after our judge all weekend. Murrelet Halterman made sure the courses were built quickly and efficiently, and Kim Hastings coordinated the workers (which was pretty much everyone). And Marj Vincent and Ken Perlmutter were everywhere all the time, helping with anything at all that needed doing.

Arlene Courtney, our judge, brought great courses, was unfailingly supportive and encouraging, and also turned her hand to course building, bar setting, etc.  Thank you Arlene - we *love* having you!

As always at BARK trials the food and the raffle were both incredible - the best anywhere! Debbie organized the food and Maudeen and Nancy Rico the raffle, with contributions from many other people. I mention Judy Frantzich in particular, who provided many fun bags of toys for the raffle.

Set up and take down is a *lot* of work, and we couldn't put on a trial at all without Debbie, her husband Lew, her sister Nancy, Maudeen, Judy and her friend Bill, who every year help to move the equipment. Debbie, Lew, and Nancy also store most of the equipment and supplies and use their trailers to bring it to the site.  Thank you all so much!  This year we also had help in take down from a newbie - Scott Streetman - at his first ever trial with his pretty aussie Gizmo - little did he know what he was getting into!

I must mention in particular Ken Perlmutter and Marj and Gene Ross - these wonderful people have supported our club and our trial every year from the beginning, always there and helping out in any way they can. And a shout out to Marj Vincent - she and Bruce started the tradition of trials in Madera with funraisers some years ago.

And finally to the best note of all - Marj and Chellie getting NATCH 24 in a lovely jumpers run. How wonderful is that! Marj, I am so glad it happened at BARK and that we all got to celebrate with you! Debbie supplied a delicious ice cream cake, that said "Marj and Chellie- a NADAC legend" and I think that about sums it up.

Thanks to all who came to the trial - you all helped out but if I list all the names this long message will become unreadable. See you all next year!

Jennifer, trial secretary.

To BARK and everyone!

I cannot even begin to express how totally wonderful this club is!  They may be small but they are MIGHTY!!

Gene & I would never miss this trial due to so many factors!!

EVERYONE works and helps out.  There is more laughter and praise for each and every team even if no "Q" is attained.  Just a few jumps in a row will bring praise for that team!  The food is always outrageous and sooooo good!

Their incredible celebration for Chel's 24th R NATCH was the frosting on the cake....and what a fabulous cake it was!!  Each day with Chel is a blessing but this celebration had me in tears....thank you all so very much!!  We just LOVE you all!  Marj & Chel    And, Sharon, I'm ready anytime you are...woohoo!!  AND having Marj and Arlene both with us was PERFECT!!  And also Ken!
