I guess I'm just slow, but I still don't understand exactly how this is working.  Are the dogs listed the fastest, have the most points in a month in a given class or what?
Linda

Most points in a month.

As time goes by we 'might' try to work in DRI's into it.  But we have some issues to iron out before that happens

So the dogs/results listed now are from April?

Yeah, but what month?  And does it count VT?  And why monthly when the top 10 is yearly?  Just curious and full of questions.  I do think it is an awesome new feature!

-Amy

VT does count.

It's monthly because a lot of people don't like having to wait until the end of the year.

We've got some new pages added today.   Now you can look back at the monthly leaderboard all the way back to January of this year.

Once it's out of the current month we are limiting it to the top 10 dogs.  If it's a tie for 10th then all those dogs get listed as well.

Any chance of also getting monthly results by breed?

Another option to consider might be year-to-date instead of individual months. Monthly achievements are sporadic, depending on when trials occur in a particular geographical area (the only reason my dog and I show up on the May leaderboards is because we just happened to start the month with a three-day double-run trial). Year-to-date results, on the other hand, would track cumulative progress towards year-end placements, which is probably what most people are interested in anyway.

I agree it would be more relevant.    The only downside is that a lot of people really look forward to the end of the year top ten announcements.   So I'm not sure if doing a cumulative throughout the year would detract from that.   If fluffy has been in first for 8 out of the last 12 months it's not gonna be a big surprise when he comes in first for the year end top ten.

At least this way you could still figure it out, but it's gonna take some work!   So it would hopefully keep the year end stuff a little more exciting

VT does count.

I'm a little confused...I have four open hooper vt for may, 40 points, they are in my points final (dog 15-10192). But I'm not on the current leaderboard. i'm not fussed just confused as I assumed vt just didn't count until I saw this  :)

EDIT: oh is it just elite, maybe?

You got it, it's just elite dogs for right now.

Once I'm sure everything is showing up correctly we'll start adding a bunch more options like different levels, breed selections and we're playing around with the idea of something else that would be pretty cool, but we have to work the basic ones out first :)
