Getting infö about NADAC hosted trials
« on: July 18, 2017, 10:56:48 AM »
Hi there

I was looking for information about the NADAC hosted trial in Sept. in Lancing, TN, and there is no premium up to check out where, when, what time, etc. under the events list for NADAC hosted trials. I may be traveling through that area around then and want to be able to enter DOT if it is on my way.

I just asked about this earlier today because I have a bunch of students planning to enter this as their first trial. Chris responded that he sent the premium to Jeff last week and expects that it will be up and ready this week.

Colleen and Dick have built an absolute agility paradise in Lancing, you won't be disappointed if you join us.  :)

Hi Chris -- Any update on this? The premium is still not posted. Was hoping to email it out to my students today.

I'll go ahead and attach the premium here, that way you can at least see what's happening.  Won't be able to enter online quite yet :)

Thank you, Chris! That works for me! I don't anticipate any of them will be ready to do their entries until after next weekend anyhow, but it will be helpful to get the premium in their hands so they can bring questions to our prep event.

Y'all are killing me with this 9am start time in the "summer".

For anyone coming to this trial the first time, the time is EASTERN.  Colleen's property literally sits on the time zone.  Most of it is in eastern, the very back of property is central, so your phone's may get confused.

I agree with the comment about the time starting this trial.  It can be darned hot at 9 and 10 AM in early Sept!

I hope you guys aren't suggesting to bump the start time earlier -- That would be very painful for all of us coming from the Central time zone....   :o  When I travel East (say, to Harriman) I don't even enter the first classes of the day if the trial starts at 8:00 a.m.  That's 7:00 a.m. for me, and I have to leave home at least an hour and a half before then, which means getting up at 5:00 a.m.

No thanks.

I know it means getting up earlier for non-eastern time zone peeps, but it's already getting warm and humid at 9 am.  When we finish around 2 pm EST, it's around the heat of the day.  I'm not worried about myself as much as my double-coated pups.  While we can do things to keep them cool, running in the humidity and heat takes it's toll on them quickly.

Heat and humidity are why I don't trial in the summer when it's an outside (not covered) event.

I will venture to say that the majority of the people who drive back and forth from home each day (don't have an RV or get a hotel) are from the CST. And we have quite a few for whom this is going to be their first ever agility trial experience. I vote that we do not start switching things up on the fly for these people who are not plugged in to a network to learn of these changes, and that we don't immediately make them hate showing because it involves getting up before the buttcrack of dawn. The premium has been published and shared. People have already started to enter or plan on doing day of show entries. It's not fair to change things now for this trial.

Also, it runs 8-10 degrees cooler up at Colleen's place than it does at my place in Cookeville.
