Preliminary Run Orders
« on: August 28, 2018, 01:45:55 PM »
Run Orders have been posted!
These are the first draft, so don't be surprised if they change a bit as we work out conflicts and division changes :)

Everyone should have received an email, but if you did not you can check them out here:

Hi Chris,
I believe the Stakes dogs are missing from the Thursday run order.

Sorry!  Guess I just didn't wait long enough for the download.  Got it now.

Wondering about resolving (potential) conflicts between pre-elite and elite rings.  Any guidance or ideas? :-)

In the email that Chris sent to everyone he explained that we needed to look at those potential conflicts.  And if there are less than 20 dogs between the two runs then to notify him right away so he can make the necessary moves.

Definitely email me!

Keep in mind Elite and Pre-Elite will start around the same time.

So if you have the 3rd dog in pre-elite and the 5th dog in elite that will cause an issue.

You want around 20 dogs between your own to have a stress free week :)

Thanks.  I knew about the 20 dog guideline, but wasn't sure how that worked between the two classes. :-)

I can imagine that dog 120 in one class and 140 in another class might be running at the same time, creating a conflict, but maybe that's me!

Maybe a silly question (Iím a newbie to champs) but I thought there were 2 runs each day.  How does that factor into the run order posted?

You are correct that there are 2 runs each day.  The run orders posted are for BOTH of the runs that day.  So whatever is posted is for the morning round and for the afternoon round.

So, for instance on Thursday, Runs 1-192 in Elite runs in the morning and again in the afternoon?
And the same goes for working a group-it would be done twice?

Yes on the run orders.  As for working - Chris will have to answer that definitely - but when I signed up I assumed the answer is yes.  Especially since those worker's times are only listed once and not twice.  So I'm planning on working both rounds.

Thanks for asking about that--I was trying to figure out the team thing and it was talking about rounds 1-5, round 7, etc and I was only seeing 4 run orders.  Now I understand....

You do run twice per day, so the run order repeats for the second round of the day.

And same for the working spots.

So if you sing up to bar set for dogs 1-25 on Thursday you'll be doing it for the morning and afternoon classes.

A good rule of thumb is that each dog will take about 1 minute.   It can be a little shorter or longer depending on the course, but it's a good ball park.

So if you're working Dogs 1-25 bar setting then you'll be working for about 50 minutes that day.

If each person signs up for one job, we would have a MASSIVE surplus of workers, which would be amazing!
