We are also working on having the Chances, Jumpers and Regular runs be eligible for the first ever Speed and Stakes trial!
More details to come and those that have already entered could let me know if you want your Elite level entries to be switched over to "Speed and Stakes", which means your normal runs could not be run. You can't be in both. The Speed and Stakes runs will count towards the top dog points for 2014 and the runs will be a little longer, a little tougher, and fun, fun, and FUN!!!
It will be like running Championships in January in Arizona!
It is fitting to start in January with Jumping Chollas, one of our first NADAC clubs!

Oh man!!! Now you are just being mean ;) Wish I could come :'(

Wish I could be there. Maybe if Dusty heals by then we could make the trip.

Would we have to enter all the rounds of Regular/Chances/Jumpers to do Speed and Stakes? (I'm assuming yes, but just checking.)

All of one day, yes..... you could be in SS one day and not the next, but it must be the entire day of whichever day it was.

I have 2 questions:
1.) Where do I find the info on how "Speed and Stakes" is run? I remember it being talked about but not sure where to find the info again.
2.) Since these trials are in conjunction with a Judges Clinic, do us non-judges get to listen in?? (That could be cool!) I just don't know how judges clinics work.
Thanks!

I will address #2 first. Not all S and S trials are part of a judging clinic. Only the one in January in Phoenix "happens" to be on a judging clinic weekend. And sorry, but non-judges cannot audit a judging clinic. Only current judges and new judging applicants can attend. And in some parts, not even the new applicants can attend!
For #1, the SandS runs are judged like the Championships. For the upcoming Phoenix trial only Regular, Chances and Jumpers will be run as SandS runs. A competitors cannot run in both "normal" Reg, Chances and Jumpers and SandS runs. They will need to run in one or the other. The runs are time plus faults, plus bonus points for those doing the distance lines. The courses will be the "normal" courses plus a couple extra challenges so the courses will be a bit longer and a bit tougher. The results from these runs will also accumulate towards end of the year honors.

I loved Triple Crown, so please sign Klev'r up to run S and S at the Phoenix trial. Thanks.

I'm just not understanding the "big picture" yet...so here's a couple more questions:
Do S&S runs "count" for points towards the next Champs?
What if my dog is in Elite Regular and Jumpers but only in Open Chances? Can we still enter the whole day in S&S? (Or does the dog need to be in *all* three Elite classes?)
Thanks,
Kyle

Yes, you can use the S&S points for Champs entry. You have to be eligible for Elite in all classes.

Would u please tell us more about s&s ?
Will the s&s points count for Natches etc or will they b separate awards?
Will the courses be entirely different course builds ?
Thanks

Are there any other s & s trials scheduled yet? If so, when and where will they be held? I would love to participate but Phoenix is a little far for me.

Courses will be an extension of the regular courses.
All S&S points count towards all titles and awards.

Which days include the s&s portion? All 5 or just the weekend?
Thanks.

S&S cannot be run on artificial turf, that is why I posted that it is only Saturday and Sunday on grass at the park.

I've entered the Phoenix funraiser and I know that there are no move ups at trial, but my dog has moved up since I entered and I can't figure out how to move him to the correct level for the funraiser. Thanks, Lynn Stringer

Just email me with any move-ups prior to the trial. Congrats and see you there!
