Title: Pre-trial?
Post by: papillonlover123 on February 09, 2017, 04:20:01 PM
On the NADAC website there is a pre-trial on October 3rd and 4th. What is that? Is it suggested to go?

Thanks

The Pre-Trial, or some folks call it Pre-Champs as well.   Is essentially a normal trial.   It lets people get their dogs used to the equipment and the arena, but the runs have no effect on your scores for the main event.

So it's totally a personal call whether that seems worth it to you or not :)

Do qualifying runs in pre-trial count toward regular point accumulation for titles?

Yes they do.

Hello,

I'm posting this question here, since it relates to Pre-Champs runs...   At the 2016 Champs, there was a "special achievement" type award that was given out to people who earned a certain number of Qualifying Runs across both the Pre-Champs runs and the actual Champs runs.  That was a really fun goal to strive for!  Will something similar be offered for this year's Champs?  Just curious...

Thanks!

It hasn't been 100% decided yet, but I would imagine that we will do it again :)

What is the class run order for the pre-trial classes on each day?

What is the class run order for the pre-trial classes on each day?

Preliminary run order will be:

Tuesday:
Touch n Go
Weavers
Tunnelers

Wednesday:
Hoopers
Jumpers
Chances

This could change depending on the number of entries.   If we get a unexpectedly high number of pre-trial entries than we would end up running multiple rings and that could change the order slightly.

Will those last classes be held into the evening?    IF so, what would the latest time be?

No Barrelers in Pre-Champs??  Bummer!
Since we don't see it very often, this is one place I thought we might.

I agree since we don't run it in VT it's hard to get very many runs. Sandy

Are the pre-trial runs done using the "double run" format or is it a different course between Rounds 1 and 2?

At a regular weekend trial you can run your dog either skilled or proficient, but you must pick one for the whole weekend.  Is this the same as the pre-trial and champs?  Could I enter my dog as skilled in the pre-trial so as to not work him too hard and run him as proficient in the main event?

Chris
Will there be an opportunity to do "day of" entries if space is available?

It is technically two different shows.   So that would be allowed.

We wouldn't be able to do same day entries.  But if you came on Tuesday and wanted to enter something on Wednesday we could do that.
There are just too many runs and too much to coordinate to be adding runs on the same day :)

Is the run order pretty much set at this point? I am thinking about entering the Tunnelers runs on Tuesday (my girl LOVES her tunnels), but will be driving in that morning and want to make sure that it is still the last class. I know that Chris mentioned at the end of May that it could change depending on the number of entries.

Also, is it possible to find out approximately how many runs (total) are there for Tuesday and Wednesday?

Thanks!

Amy

Yup at this point it'll be staying the same :)

Right now we've got around 700 runs for Tuesday and 900 runs for Wednesday.   So we will be running two rings at the same time to speed things up a bit.

I'll explain in a later post how we're going to make that work so no conflicts happen :)

Thanks.

For the pre-trial?

We don't usually post that run order until the day of the trial, just like a normal trial :)

But the general class order will be in place?  with tunnelers being last on Tuesday, and Chances being last on Wednesday?

I had completely forgotten that we didn't have the Pre-Trial class order up anywhere.   My bad :)

Kind of piggybacking on these questions, I have a couple of additional questions:

1. I'm assuming that the 3rd class of the day (Tunnelers on Tuesday and Chances on Wednesday) will be built in the 1st available ring. Is that correct?
2. How will walk-thrus work for the pre-Champs runs? I can't imagine that everyone in Elite will be walking all at once.
3. Will the jumping classes run tall to small or small to tall?

Thanks!

Amy

1) Correct!

2) Definitely not :)   Depending on the size of the class we'll split the walk throughs up so that it isn't completely crowded.   If Elite Touch N Go is a huge class then we'll let all the 2,8 and 12 dogs walk, then when they're done we'll let the 16 and 20's.  And then Open and Novice after that.      But we'll make that decision individually for each class depending on the number of entries.

3) Tuesday we'll go small to tall.  Wednesday will tall to small
