Title: Hotels that take dogs in Gillette
Post by: knittingdog on October 13, 2017, 06:27:28 AM

I know it's really early to be asking - but I also know that Champs has been in Gillette a number of times already so I figure people already know the answer off the top of their heads.

What hotels are close to the trial site that take dogs?

Thanks!
Robin

We're going to start checking on this soon!

I know at least two new hotels have been built since the last time we were there, one of which is basically right next to the site.   So I'm really hoping they accept dogs!

Awesome!  What is the exact name of the facility in Gillette?  I know it's in Gillette and that's about it!  Lol!

I know there's a Motel 6 somewhere in the area. I"m cheap when it comes to hotels, so that's where I'll be ;)

This is going to be the absolute closest hotel to the site:

http://arbucklelodge.com/ (http://arbucklelodge.com/)

We'll be talking to them first about getting a group rate and all that fun stuff :)

There is also a La Quinta in Gillette. They are always dog friendly everywhere I've been.

Have come across  a couple La Quintas that donít accept pets as Iíve gone back and forth across the country, either moving or going to dog shows and trials, so you always need to ask first.

Some of the la Quintas that don't take dogs are due to local ordinances beyond the control of the chain. However the one in Gillette had a pet friend indicator on their site.

I am in Gillette for a stockdog trial and ended up staying at the Home 2 Suites.   It is just a couple minutes from the Cam Plex.  Very close to lots of eating places.   Has a nice place to walk and potty dogs.

Work out room,  pool,  nice breakfast thing as well.

I filmed my room so you could see what they look like.   Hope it helps those that are looking for a motel during champs!

It says pets allowed. But doesnít say if there is a fee. Is there?  And if so how much?

35 one time pet fee for cleaning.   Which is pretty good especially if you are staying a week!  Very pet friendly... gave me a door hang that says pet inside.

I just checked the gillette home2 suites website and it said $75 non-refundable pet deposit.  Hoping you are right about $35!  Although it would be about $10/night with the $75, which isn't horrible...  Do you think if we called to make the reservation they would honor the $35 pet fee?

I don't know... that is just what they charged me.  I am here with a stock dog trial and they may have set up something for rate and pet fee??  Not sure.

Is there a dog limit? How many dogs will they allow?

I only had two but others had several so no it did not appear to be a limit.

I stayed at the Arbuckle and they gave the Wyoming Stockdog Association a group rate. My bill for two nights was $160. Big fields out back to walk dogs, and it is right across the street from the Camplex. I did have to drive to find dinner.

Chris...how far is the Cam-Plex from the Arbuckle Lodge?  Will be entering one dog but traveling with four and stay at Arbuckle.

Thanks,
Randy

You could literally walk.  It is a bit of a walk but you could walk.
