Title: Title Grandfathering Clarification
Post by: KarissaKS on May 06, 2019, 11:26:29 AM
I have been waiting for the tugging rule to come into effect before starting to run my young dog, Ren, in NADAC. Meanwhile, he is now running in Open in AKC and earned his Starters Gamblers title in USDAA. I would like to run him in Open in NADAC (avoiding 6 weave poles) to coincide with where he is at in other organizations, as he has "proven" that he can run Novice level challenges.

But in looking at the rule book it looks like my dog has to have proven himself on Open/Advanced courses by titling at those levels in other organizations before he is allowed to run Open in NADAC? I have to take a backwards step in NADAC? I thought it was a direct transfer over. As in, if my dog has Novice titles elsewhere we can run in Open?

We have been meaning to update the rule book.

Wording was not put in there correctly.

It is supposed to be a direct cross over.   So Novice Title = Open Competition.

You can still submit it now since that is what we look for, and the rule book will get updated here soon
