OSage Gunmetal Blue "Gunner" 1/2/2001-5/7/2013
« on: May 08, 2013, 09:28:08 AM »
I just want to let those who knew Gunner know that he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday, quite unexpectedly.  My guess is that he had a hemangiosarcoma somewhere we couldn't see or palpate and he was bleeding from that.  He was a trooper to the end and kept his eyes on me til i put hm down.  Im not sure if you know his story- when he was 2 wks old in his whelping box i would visit him and his 3 sisters.  after his eyes opened he would come out of the box and try to crawl up my leg.  Funny thing is i wanted his red, blue eyed sister, not a male.  He never stopped pestering me to pick him up.  when i finally did we connected instantly.  That's the end of that story.  What i will miss most is his enthusiasm for life.  Everytime i would look at him he would give me the wiggybutt and look at the door.  He wanted to grasp life and see what it brought to him.  He ran agility just 2 weeks ago and ran a 5 yps jumpers run.  unbelieveable.  I will miss those beautiful soft brown eyes and the many kisses he would jump up and give me.  I still have Jed and we will go on with gusto for the game and remember that Gunny was the one who showed me so much.  Yesterday he went from sleeping on his bed to collapsing on the floor and to the vet in  one hour.  Kiss your dogs and remember that in a new york minute anything can change.  it did. thanks for your friendship and your support all these years.

Jill, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your post touched me to tears.  Such a poignant reminder to never take any minute with those we love for granted.

May time bring you peace and healing, and joy in your memories of Gunner.

So very sorry to hear of Gunny's passing ..... sounds like the 2 of you were meant to be from the very beginning.

I will hug my kids a little tighter today & think of the wonderful times we have together each & every day.

Thanks for being Gunny's mom, team mate & care giver 'til the end. My thoughts & prayers are with you.

Jill,

I'll always remember Gunner, too.  What a great Aussie boy.  He's no doubt chasing Panda as we speak...

Hugs to you.

Jill, I am so sorry that Gunner has passed.  You and Gunner are such a great team and the two of you had a very special relationship.  Gunner never stopped his absolute adoration of you and you will always love him and keep a special place just for him in your heart.

Hold those memories, they hurt right now but after a long time from now they can make you smile.

Jill,

I am sorry to read this news.

When the time is right, I know you and your family will give the love you have for Gunner to a very lucky pup.

In the meantime, may your memories comfort you.

Regards,

Ken
