Barrel in a Regular Course
« on: May 21, 2013, 11:30:58 AM »
This past weekend, we ran a set of courses that used a barrel in Regular.  It was used instead of a curved tunnel to wrap from the A-frame back to a tunnel under the A-frame, and then to wrap from the tunnel back around to the A-frame.  I was really pleased that I didn't hear a single exhibitor complain (and I would have heard had people complained as I was the trial chair) or say anything else negative about the barrel.  Almost all the dogs did the barrel quite well in both directions, although I noted that many of them could used some more practice teaching their dogs to dig in on the turn.  I hope we get to see more barrels in courses, it definitely adds a new dimension to the courses.
