Introducing....
« on: July 26, 2013, 06:40:03 AM »
Just wanted to take a happy moment and introduce my newest addition:

deHaan's Secret O' Life      call name: Zoe

Zoe is a 7 week old Husky  or husky mix rescue (or at least she is supposed to be) - She was dumped in a kill shelter in NC at 3 weeks old with her 3 brothers (who have all been adopted too!)   I found her on Petfinder a couple of weeks ago - she was being fostered by a rescue group in NJ - so off we (Kiva, Nika and I) went to meet her and see if she would be a good fit. She was - she is! She is really healthy and very keen - a great snuggler and a little headstrong  but also very biddable (yes I have figured that all out in the 6 days I have had her!)

Nika - my Siberian Husky rescue - who most of you know as my zany girl on course - is really my husband's dog who has been his running partner for the last 12 years. This year she suffered a foot injury and really is not up to running with him all that much any more - although they do go out every weekend to smell the roses as it were :)   Zoe will hopefully fill Nika's shoes when she is fully grown and be a great running partner for my husband, Tom.

Zoe will of course be learning agility too - and will hopefully be as awesome a partner as Kiva - but THOSE are huge shoes to fill - I would be happy with another partner like Kody :) - Right now we are working on the basics and house training - and just letting her learn how to be a part of our family and meet her larger pack (of labs, shelties, pugs and all americans) each week at the agility classes I teach in NY. So far so good - she has made a lot of friends, human and canine :)

Zoe will be making her first public agility appearance at the NAE NADAC trial in Dummerston, VT in 2 weeks - it will also be her first camping trip in the RV - it will be an adventure I am sure!

Tough to get a good photo of her b/c she is really active - but I have attached one -

A great addition to Play~Bow's All Rescue Agility Team !

So awesome that you adopted a new family member.  Good luck with her.  I love to see the "out of the ordinary" breeds of dogs running agility.

It's always so exciting to have a new puppy.  I'm looking forward to seeing her when she grows up!

It's always great to see another Northern breed in agility!   ;D

I was just crazy enough to add another to my pack as well. I guess I figured life wasn't challenging enough. lol (and we need more Klee Kai doing agility, so I figured I may as well add to our numbers!)

So glad you are coming to Stowe.  Can't wait to meet her!  When I saw her pic, she reminded me of my dog Gypsy :)
