Starters stakes
« on: September 30, 2013, 05:49:31 PM »
tandem and I competed in the starters stakes at champs and it was a blast!!

Starters is a nice combination of "required" distance skills and still being able to run with your dog.

I love distance and so does tandem, but I don't like to be confined behind a line the whole course.    So starter stakes was perfect!!! Sometimes we had one, two or three distance challenges and they were blast!

I definitely plan to enter tandem in starters stakes next year!!  Woohohoooo

Zia and I also competed in Starter Stakes.  While I had tried all year to qualify for Silver Stakes but fell short on points, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in Starter Stakes.  Thank you, Sharon, for offering this new class!  It was a BLAST!!

To say that Jack and I competed in Starter Stakes would be a stretch, but we took part, and it truly was a thrill to have a chance to see just how much of it we could do.  It's taken us a while to get this far and I've been blessed to receive help from some of the top dog folks in the country...it really has taken a village...and I second or third the idea that it was a blast!  Jack exceeded my goal of earning just one bonus in each run and I couldn't be happier!  Thanks to everyone who has helped me move forward each time I was stuck.   Another great idea, Sharon, and I hope we'll get a chance to do it again!

KRUZER & I HAD A BLAST!!!

I felt very comfortable going into each run knowing that I would have the opportunity to work lines AND "run with Kruz". Kruzer LOVES playing Chances & Starters Stakes was right up his alley! I am so glad that I "took the CHANCE" & signed up for Starters Stakes!

I will definitely be signing up for Starters Stakes for our next Champs adventure! Kruzer will be a Double Digit boy by then, but DRIVEN will be up for the challenge!! CAN NOT WAIT!!!

Thank You Sharon Nelson for giving us this added opportunity to play with distance !!

As I was watching starter stakes, I thought, "wow, Lily could do that".. Maybe not all of them, and not always too quickly, but.... who knows, maybe next time I will try it with her...

Does anyone have a video of a starters run?  I am very interested in doing starters next year but would like to see a video or an example of a course map. NOT all just one or two.  That way we can practice, practice and have FUN!!  Next year!

Starter stakes was a blast.  Princess Minnie and I enjoyed each run.  I am glad I took the challenge and thanks Sharon for offering it.

Let me chime in and say that Toby and I plan to enter Starters Stakes as well, and look forward to it next year.  We just arrived home yesterday from Springfield, and already we are planning the trip.

Starters stakes look to me like Elite Chances with some spice. Where the chances challenges in the Regular Class Open Level Chances?
