Occasionally in a dash for the finish line, a dog misses the last obstacle. Once the dog has passed the plane of the last obstacle, even if they run by it, the run is considered completed and the time stops. The handler should proceed to leash their dog and exit the ring. Exhibitors should not attempt to come back onto the course in an effort to complete the last obstacle. Once the plane of the last obstacle is broken, the run is completed.
