Exhibitor Tip - Waiting at the "In" gate
« on: February 26, 2014, 07:58:49 AM »
We are all anxious to get our turn in the ring but sometimes this causes problems with too many dogs waiting at the gate.  Check the gate sheet and be aware of who the dogs are before you so that you come to the gate with about 2 dogs to go before you.  Some gate areas are pretty confined and you want to be very aware of your dog and dogs around you.
We would like to think that all dogs are friendly and relaxed coming into the ring but sometimes that is not the case.  Keep your dog focused on you and away from the other dogs waiting to come in the ring.  Also remember to move away from the exit of the ring after you finish your run.
Watch out for Jumpers and Tunnelers as those classes go much quicker than the others so be ready!
