Emailing and Messaging question
« on: May 22, 2012, 08:04:40 AM »
Hi Chris,
I do have one question ...you mentioned on the forum to send a private message to someone, you click on the PM....where is that exactly?   I see the 'email' icon and then a little conversation bubble under the poster's name.   Is the bubble what you mean by PM?  Can you tell me the difference between the email icon and the bubble?  Are both sent outside of the forum....privately?  I do see I have a 'message' tab at the top....is this connected to the bubble?

You got it.  Mostly.

The bubble is the PM function.   And it just keeps all the info 'in house'.  So no emails are actually sent, it's just data traveling back and forth between the databases.   And the 'Messages' tab is where all your PM's will show up.

It is private, so no one else can view them.

The 'Email' button is just that.  It will send a email to that persons address using your address.   This feature I am not really sure about, since if I wanted to send an email I would do it through my email account.  But different strokes for different folks.
