Chellie, Marj Ross's wonderful, border collie is announcing her retirement. She is looking forward to coaching the youngsters, while taking advantage of all creature comforts that are her just due!
Chellie is well known for her expertise on those bonus runs, which she excelled at for many years.
Chellie is retiring at the age of 14 years young having just finished her 27th Versatility NATCH last weekend physically sound. During her trialing years Chellie has earned an amazing number of awards including 2 Silver Achievement Awards and 2 Silver Versatility Achievement Awards. She has competed in the Stakes classes at a number of Championships and people recognize her in the local agility rings for her distance skills. Chelle earned the highest number of yearly bonus points 5 years in a row, tying with Amanda Nelson & Try in 2012.
Marj says, "I started competing with her, my first agility dog (at age 65), in several venues, but very quickly realized that NADAC was were I wanted to be. Sharon's inspiration for distance runs, when she and Becky were the only ones doing it, was beyond words for me. Everyone, at that time, thought I was nuts. But I loved the focus and the terrific challenge of it all. I did not care how many runs I threw away doing distance....it is just amazing to do it and be a real team! And Chellie was the dog to do it. It was only too bad that I was so inexperienced at that time and it took me a long time to get the real focus...Chellie got it right away."
Happy retirement Chellie, keep Marj safe and always smiling with her love for you!
