I had fiberglass panels replace the wood on my contacts. And then had the guy put the belting on. Yes, he used the DAP gel weldwood contact cement. But two days after I got things back, the dog walk planks are peeling up. And now the A-frame is turning loose in places. He has worked with contact cement before.
But, he has not applied the belting to fiberglass before. He has done equipment with the rubber granules and no problems. I did forward the email from Sara Fix. I do not think he actually weighted the belting while curing. And I suspect, don't know for sure, that it had one day of drying time before delivery. I, of course, put it out in the sun (North Alabama) and it is getting hot and it is fairly humid here right now.
He came by today to fix what initially looked like corners coming up and did reapply cement but was not at all happy.
So, has anyone else applied the belting to fiberglass? Any problems? How does that contact cement really work???
