Bonus Run Newbie
« on: August 16, 2014, 01:51:12 PM »
I am really excited that Wednesday and I may actually have done a bonus run correctly on the Tunnelers course today at SCOR NJ trial ;>. This was perhaps the 3rd or 4th time that we have EVER attempted a bonus run, however, since I am not one of the super handlers that regularly submits bonus runs, I am not sure how to do it ;<.

I see that there is a FAQ of how to submit VT runs but not one for Bonus runs. I am going to email my run to Sharon but is it preferred that I upload it to YouTube (which adds an extra layer of complexity since you need a YouTube account and I may not recall my password while I am away at the trial)? Can a FAQ be created to help out all the other people who are Bonus Run Newbies?

Still excited, Frances and V-NATCH Wednesday.

You did well!  Normally, participants upload them to YouTube and send me the link to the video.  If I happen to be on a good internet connection, such as today, then sending me the video file works as I can upload it to YouTube and post that link.  If I am not on a good connection, then I don't accept the video file unless it is a YouTube link.

Be sure to list the trial, date run and the name of the course set used.  We do compare the video to the original course to see if it is set close enough to the original course design to qualify for bonus runs.  Make sure the judge has clearly delineated the bonus area so that is shows on the video.  You don't want to lose a run because we can't see the bonus area markers and it doesn't look like the bonus area marked on the paper.

Good job!

Thanks for the info, since I sent my first video bonus in the other weekend and all anyone told me at the trial was I needed to send the link.  I'll try to remember if I ever end up sending another video in that you want the course set name/date/trial, too.
