It will be done by a starter at the line.  Normally me :-) or a NADAC judge.  There will be an announcer on the PA talking some about you and your dog or the run.

Yeah.  At our first Champs the announcer was saying "Toby" just as he came out of a tunnel and he was looking around trying to figure out who was calling him!  lol

Sigh.  Maybe I'll tell them that Beau likes to be called Sam or something.  Funny.

It was no biggie.  Just coincidental timing. Didn't affect our run other than maybe 1.5 seconds of time, and we were there for fun (which we had in spades!), so it didn't cost us a place in the finals or anything!  Don't think I saw any other dog react.  I think it says more about his focus on me than anything else!  lol

Is there only one ring running at a time at champs?

Do we sign up to "volunteer" at the event, or before?  Sharon, AZ

Either - but before is always best.  When it gets closer to time there will be a post requesting volunteers. You just reply to that.  And you can always volunteer once you get there as well.  There are never too many volunteers.  ;)

Great remark, Marcy!  And yes, the dogs that are really focused on their handlers never hear a thing from anyone else!
