Challenge Stakes
« on: July 06, 2016, 10:07:39 PM »
We are currently having a judges clinic here in Bend.  During a conversation, I mentioned that I wasn't happy with the name "Starter Stakes" as is sounds like "beginners".  But in reality it could be very experienced teams whose handlers know that they are at the best distance for their dog to be the "most happy" and stay connected and confident.  No one ever has to move from that level.  I am thrilled to announce that this level is now going to be called "Challenge Stakes".  It is perfect!!!  Since the Regular points come from the Distance Challenge area, this really ties it all together!!  So now we have the Challenge Stakes, the Silver Stakes and the Super Stakes divisions for the Championships Stakes entrants!!  Very happy with the perfect name for Challenge Stakes!!

That sounds appropriate as those running in that stakes are challenging themselves with a distance component greater than the distance sections required in the non-stakes classes.
