There *might* be some Utah wine, but we do other stuff better:

Three Wives Vodka
Jackrabbit Gin
High West Whiskey (Campfire)

Polygamy Porter
and some local moab brew, Dead Horse Ale (or something similar).

And just "few" other non-beverage items, too, of course!

The KY contingent is putting together a basket and as we're collecting items from club members and others, we're trying to remember: do the proceeds go to Toys for Tots?

I have posted on Facebook to see if anyone wants to donate anything Texas or Purple.  I'm not sure who all is going to Champs from Texas, and haven't heard anyone else volunteer to head up the basket collection.  Are you volunteering??  :)

Let me know and I will let you know what if anything I collect from others.

Sounds good.  As the song says ...  when will I see you again? Are you going to Champs?  ... If not,  I'll be at the SHAG trial in College Station in August.  Will you be there then?  If so I can pick up whatever you want to donate.

Great. I'm sure a few others who are going to Champs will be there as well.  We can all put our heads together and see what we get from other Texas agility addicts and what else we might want to get.  I usually get a certificate for a Free Trial Package from WAG.  Will probably get the OK for that at our August meeting.  Know any other club that would want to donate something like that?

Marcy.....this will be my first time at Champs, so I don't know anything about the state baskets.  Can you give us new folks some info on how the state baskets work?

Well "basket" is just a misleading description because there is usually way too much stuff from each state/group to fit into anything - much less a basket.  But what most groups do is bring things that somehow represent their state - anything related in any way.  And also Purple things.  You buy raffle tickets and put them in the sack(s) of the state(s) raffle items that you want to win.  Everything is displayed on big long tables with some "baskets" overflowing with stuff even on the ground around the table.  So anything Texas works.  I usually bring a bottle or two of  Texas wines (alcohol is big in the raffle!) - though last year I put the sack down and one of the bottles broke which was a real bummer.  We can talk more at College Station - and talk with some of the others going and maybe get a better handle on what all we can gather together.  But mainly - think Texas and all that it represents.

Well Becky, think I'll have a big plate of Texas brisket before I head that way.  Does that count?  lol  Of course, you come down HERE and I'll buy you all the BBQ and chili you can eat!!

If anyone is lacking ideas for their baskets, try shopping at The Purple Store!  Lots of cool stuff!
