4 Paws Rule, 9/3-5/2016: report

Four Paws Rule's 3-day Ring of Fire trial in Otis Orchards, Washington, was a blast!  Many teams had great accomplishments.  From our Brag Board:

Abbey and Karen Kellerman: Elite Tunnelers title and Superior Open Touch and Go title.
Amy and Sue Thompson: Intro Hoopers title.
Brekka and April Weber: Superior Intro Chances title and Intro All Around.  (Brekka celebrated her All Around by commissioning her "mom" to bake fancy dog cookies for all canine competitors.)
Champ and Sharon Fischer: Open Tunnelers title.
Cody and Barb Franklin: Outstanding Elite Touch and Go title and Outstanding Elite Jumpers title.
Eyce and Linda Thompson: Novice Tunnelers title (1st Novice title) and Novice Regular title.
Faith and Marion Kooyman: Ran with gusto!
Mustang and Tami Richardson: 1st NADAC Q, in Novice Regular.
Oliver and Vicki Barker: Novice Tunnelers title and Novice Touch and Go title.
Rimmer and Debbie Meinema: 1st NADAC title, Novice Jumpers.
Sally and Vicki Barker: Novice Chances title.
Sky and Teri Pieper: Novice Tunnelers title.
Slick and Karen Egbert: Had a great time running together.
Woody and Tami Boettcher: Open Weavers Title and Elite Touch and Go title.
Wyn and April Weber: Novice Regular title.
Zenith and Barb Benner: NATCH-2 points in Regular and NATCH-2 points in Jumpers.

We have a lot of people to thank for making this trial a success.  Thank you to Jackie Loeser, our helpful and encouraging judge.  It was great to have Jackie back in the Inland Northwest for the week-end!  Thank you to our efficient, speedy secretary, Dorothy Bowers.  Thank you to the Jewetts for use of their site.  Mary Hyatt and Barb Soucy (now among the Paws) did a lot of set-up work.  April Weber was chief course builder on Sunday (to give Sydney Chambers, our usual chief builder, a break). In addition to contributions from Four Paws members, Linda Thompson added many prizes to our Workers/NQ raffle.

Our barbecue was fun, with Gordon Jewett's hamburgers and Sydney's basil-jalapeno margaritas.  Karen Egbert outdid herself, providing many delicious dishes throughout the week-end.

Thanks especially to our volunteers!  Everyone pitched in to help.  Monday afternoon was the fastest we ever got the ring down and the place cleaned up.  We couldn't do it without you.

Hope to see many of you at our next trial in June 2017.
