Chuckanut Chaotic Canines Trial (Mt. Vernon WA) is ON!
« on: October 14, 2016, 10:34:55 AM »
Good morning everyone. It has been a gut wrenching 24 hrs. for the committee but we have decided to go ahead with the NADAC trial. We know that Fun Fur Paws will be able to keep us going with lights and some heat and our hospitality folks will have food for all of us. However, getting there and getting home is the major issue, so we expect that everyone will do what they need to in order to feel safe and comfortable as the second storm approaches. Sunday should be a quieter day if the forecasts hold true.

Hoping to see you this weekend but we’ll understand if we don’t.

Marian Snapp,
Trial Secretary,
On behalf of the Trial Committee.

Well, we didn't blow away and we had a great time. Here's a message from our chairperson.

Hello Agility Enthusiasts,

Despite inclement weather warnings the ChaoticK9s trial continued as planned this past weekend. We had an excellent venue and a fun, casual group. And we had many successful teams! We had five handlers take home big ribbons and it was truly enjoyable to see these dogs get their victory lap:

Melinda Sito & Caitlyn – Versatility NATCH
Sandy Cox & Nick Nick – NATCH
Suzy Winkle & Sammy Blue – NATCH
Karmen Davis & Harley – NATCH
Abby O’Brien & McGee – NATCH

Everyone did such a great job filling volunteer jobs and we had a great group helping to the very end. I especially want to recognize members of ChaoticK9s that made the trial happen. Amy Anderson, our Chief Course Builder, is skilled at speedy course changes and recruiting muscle. Dave Hamilton, new NADAC member, acted as apprentice course builder.

Marian Snapp, our tireless Trial Secretary, took care of all the background details (and mentored me!). Alecia Elvstad kept the volunteer board full. Judy Davis and Barbara Brausieck dedicated their weekend to keep us well-fed and caffeinated. George Sanders, Treasurer, always stays behind to wrap up the trial. And of course there were many club members without official titles who helped from set up to take down. We couldn’t have fun without you!

We also want to give a big thank you to our judge, Stefan Elvstad. He is a local and we know he gives up the opportunity to run his dog when he judges for us. Thank you for being easy to work with, Stefan!

Thank you to all the competitors and spectators. We hope to see you in May!
