Width of Ring Entrances and Exits
« on: December 29, 2016, 02:50:57 PM »
Hello,

Are there any rules or recommended guidelines for a minimum width for the entrances and exits for the rings at a trial?  We want to make sure we aren't breaking any rules when we tell the facility how to lay out our ring gates for our upcoming trial.

Thanks,

Jan

There are no hard set rules.   And it will really depend on the area for what your competitors will like or not.

In Bend we don't have any gates, heck we don't even have a fence!  And everyone does great and it's a none issue.

In other areas if I don't have the entry and exit very small and overlapping each other I get grief over it.

A good rule of thumb is a 10 foot entry and exit 'hole' is pretty good for most areas :)
