Side runs and teams.
« on: May 31, 2017, 10:35:16 AM »
Just making sure that side runs are allowed to be entered by dogs competing in the main Championships events and those who aren't?

Also- what is teams?? I don't see it mentioned or described anywhere, but see an entry for it.

Thanks
Tabatha

It is allowed for dogs entered in the main event of Championships.    As well as dogs not entered in Championships at all.

There are 3 dog/person teams for each division that compete each year.    Your points all get combined for a team total and awards get given out at the end of the event with all the other division winners :)

Can you have a double digit dog on our team? Also can a dog be on more than one team? Thanks Sandy

I don't understand what "side runs" means. It's not listed in the premium.

Correct because we weren't sure it could happen this year until recently.

It's nothing that affects the Championships.   Just extra runs that folks can choose to run if they wish.   We've done it a few times in Springfield.

If it's a double digit team!   The dogs on each team must be in the same division.

Do they count for Qs towards titles? Is it a real trial?

Yup everything at Championships counts.  Even your runs in the main championships event can be a Q in your records.

Can vet dogs (not double digit) and vet handlers be on the same team? Or are those considered separate divisions?

Vet Dogs and Vet handlers can be on the same team.   So all good there.

Vet dogs/Vet Handlers can't be on the same team as Double Digit though.   Different courses.

Elite is the main division, but then there is a sub division.

So if you're running Elite, Veteran, then yes it wouldn't be a problem!

If you're running Elite, Standard, then it wouldn't be able to happen.

So match your Main division and sub division and you're all set!

What does this mean? Double digit dogs' courses are different from the rest? Where in the premium does it state that? How different?

It's been that way for about 8+ years I believe.

They are just shorter courses.    Where it states in the premium that Pre-Elite will have a course comparative to a normal weekend in length.   DD Dogs run that same course.

Didn't see a pre-elite option for teams?
