Here is my thought.  To register a dog with NADAC, the fee for an associate is $20 and for a non-associate it is $25. So if we bid that, then really NADAC takes most or all of the hit for the donation to the charity.  That's the  reason I bid $50 for the number I'd like to have.  I know in the past, people have bid against each other to raise money for the charity and thought that was the point.  So my bid is for me to match the NADAC donation to the charity or more, since I am a NADAC associate.

My thought exactly Richard.  I originally thought our bid would be on top of the normal fee.  But Chris said no.  So I upped my bid for the very reason you describe.

Yep, my thought as well, Marcy.  I wasn't putting anyone down for bidding what they did and hope I didn't give that impression.  I just meant that in the spirit of the season and giving and all I was trying to inspire all of us to bid more than minimum since it is going to kids!!!!

And some friendly bidding is kind of fun!!!

And my new bid for 18-01001 is $60.

I'll bid $40 for 18-101010 to change Brooks's number.

This is NOT a valid number.

18-10010 is valid but not 101010

No guarantee the following is accurate but it was my best shot at it.

Here are the bids as of now.

17-03261      $30

18-01001      $60
18-01028      $50
18-01234      $40
18-01818      $30
18-02006      $40
18-03131      $30
18-04248      $40
18-04517      $20
18-07004      $50
18-07140      $30
18-07150      $30
18-07777      $50
18-08021      No Bid
18-08316      $25
18-09026      $25
18-09189      $25
18-09325      $30
18-10021      $30
18-10022      $30
18-101010     $40 This is an invalid number !!
18-11111      $25
18-12025      $30

19-07777      $50
19-08358      $25

I agree with prior comments and believe my bid was low so I'm upping my bid to $30 18-12025 to go above what I would have had to pay for a regular number. A premium should be given for a custom number.

I really am torn because I also like 18-08081 but don't need two numbers.

Great!!!!!!

As for your second choice, you could purchase that one if you win the auction and use it for a future dog you could name "Palindrome"   !!!!!!!!!!     LOL!

Thanks, Chris!  I raise my bid to $100.

No need to send a new invoice.  Except that I now see I can't raise it on the invoice page.  Sorry if I'm causing you more work but was serious about raising my bid.

Thanks.  All our best to Toys for Tots!!!!

If we're going to "sit on it for awhile" do you need to know now? Or do we just wait and eventually tell you?

I got the number for my pup, but he broke his leg two days ago and had surgery today... Crossing my fingers he can still do agility when he's all healed up (he'll be 4" dog so won't be jumping high LOL) but obviously need to wait to see how it heals and what the vet says when it does. So if he can't, I"ll hold onto it for my next dog...
