making your login last
« on: April 15, 2012, 08:28:10 PM »
When I login, it offers me the choice of staying logged in for 'forever', 'one month', 'two weeks', etc.  I always select forever but then it requires my username and password the next time I log in.  Any clues how to fix this?

You will want to make sure 'cookies' are enabled on your personal computer.

If it isn't able to save the information then it is forced to ask for the login credentials each time...Regardless of session length :)

Usually your web browser will have this option somewhere in it's settings and options.   A firewall can sometimes cause the same problem and you would need to see if it's blocking the site from storing cookies.

I'm only blocking cookies 'from third parties or advertisers'.  I use safari on a mac.  Do you think it thinks they are in that category?

Hmm I may be at a loss for that one.   I am not very Mac  savvy.

Maybe someone with more Mac knowledge will chime in

I have the same setup as you with cookies only from 3rd parties/advertisers and I am staying logged in so I don't think that is the problem.  Don't know what it might be, but probably not the cookies.

I am having the same problem with Safari. I can get it to auto fill the username and password using FireFox, but I still have to hit the login button. So I am NOT staying logged-in forever.  The funny thing is that it appears to be working with Safari on the iPad and iPhone.

I guess I can't fix it then.  Glad it works for others anyway!
