Weave Pole Tape

There has been online chatter recently regarding tape on weave poles. I'm not looking to get into a discussion of safety. I'm just wondering what clubs are using if they don't use tape on the poles. Do you keep them plain white? Do you paint them? If you paint them, what kind of paint do you use that will stick to the pvc and last?

We've left our weave poles white because everything in our agility world seems to be darker; deep green grass and trees in summer or dark sand and metal arena fencing in winter.  We did band our jump bars with a spray paint specifically made for PVC and other plastics obtained from Wal-mart.  Has stood up for many years without touch up. We had a taping and painting party one afternoon. Particular brand was pretty stinky and likely shortened a few minutes off our lives till we moved outside.

Ours are paint but they came that way so not sure what kind of paint.  I think if you leave them white or not kind of depends on your trial sites.  If they are outside that probably works.  We have one indoor trial in a soccer arena that has white side walls.  I would think it might be hard for the dogs to see them depending on placement.

Used to tape mine with purple tape which I replaced almost every year so that it was in good nick.  However last couple of years I have gone to leaving them plain white.  We mainly trial outdoors on grass with orange mesh ring fencing.  Although we do also trial a couple of times in the year indoors (Australian Nationals) where the arena walls are purple.  I found when reviewing video footage that the purple tape was terrible for Nationals and in general found the tape to be busy and hard on the human eye which may/may not impact Judges opinions.  Have not regretted once going to all white no tape, no paint poles
