Lindsey was kind enough to make some revisions and we should have a pretty close to usable version now!

Remember that this template is only required for premium submissions after January, if you submit any premiums before January you can use whatever you like.

Also you can add more info if you want,   You just can't take away any of the base info that's listed :)

And here is an example of a completed premium using the template (with updated fields for easy-to-fill in owner/dog info).

One more note - on the Agreement page after the entry form, clubs should update "Jefferson County Fairgrounds" to whatever location/facility they are using to host the trial. :)

Thanks for the template!  Can clubs still set their own start time each day - or is that a set time (2:00 for half days Friday and 9 AM on Sat/Sun) ? And the same with run orders - can the club set which classes will be run and when ?
Thanks

You can still set your own start times, run order, etc! The premium template is so every club can have the same format as to where information is in the premium so from trial to trial, people will know that start times, etc are always listed in the same place so they won't have to search through the premium to find the basic info.

You'll want to keep the first few pages the same for format, but modify the text/times, etc as needed for your trial.

What Lindsey said!

And for anyone else checking it out, I REALLY need to emphasize it's just a template.   I filled in some info so folks had an idea of how to format things, like the run order, pricing schedule, etc.

But those are only filled in so that someone who isn't great with formatting has an idea of how it can look.

But all of that info should be unique to the club and trial specifically.

So start times, classes offered, number of rounds offered, pricing schedule and class order are all things the club will want to update with their own info.

For the classes offered page, we left check boxes in all the slots, that way it's easy to just delete what you don't need.    So if you aren't offering Barrelers, just delete the barrelers name and the check boxes that go with it

Hello everyone,

I just completed my first premium using the new template and have 2 questions/suggestions for Chris and Amanda, and also a couple of small things to note for those trying to use the template.

(1) The entry form is usually the last page of the premium in our area. I'm not sure how it is in other parts of the country, but I think it would be helpful if we could put club-specific info before the Agreement and then the entry form on the page after the Agreement. It's not a big deal but it is easier to print multiple copies of the entry form without printing the entire premium when the entry form is on the last page.

(2) The page with the Jump Height info and NADAC rules is really great. One suggestion I would make is to add some brief info about the Divisions on that page, especially the Veterans Division requirements for dogs who are over 9 or over 12 (Skilled Vet). Sometimes I have competitors who don't seem knowledgeable about those requirements. I could add a bullet in the club-specific info but it seems like it belongs on this page.

(3) Note for everyone: just check for typos. The version I downloaded was missing a few spaces between words and had a couple typos that Word quickly picked up.

(4) Under the definitely no big deal category--The template has a mix of fonts (Calibri & Arial). I changed everything to one font because I'm weird like that (writing is part of my job) and also think Calibri looks a lot better.

Thanks again for all the hard work on the template. It's going to be great to have the consistency across clubs.

I did #3 and #4 for my trial's premium as well. :)

If I get time, I'll get Chris another cleaned up version with those things fixed.

What I do for #1 is I upload a separate "entry only" file to my web page. It just has the entry form and waiver so people can just print that out. The only drawback to that is people tend to just do that and not actually read the premium! Although after hosting trials for 12+ years, even if they do open the entire premium, people still don't read everything.
