Interesting!!   One question - how will this class fit into the current NATCH/All Around award system?

I went ahead and updated the page to include how it fits into the award system.

Short version, it will count towards the All Around NATCH, and be a replacement for clubs who don't offer Hoopers and Barrelers.

So you will be able to earn an AA-NATCH by either getting 130 in Hoopers and Barrelers (Plus all the other V-NATCH Requirements), or by getting 130 in Gamblers (Plus all the other V-NATCH requirements.)

Since gamblers is new do you have to have 130 in it for an  all around or can you have  a fill in?  Say 130 hoopers and 120 Barrelers and 1 gamblers?

Thanks

Will it also count toward All Around awards at the lower levels as a replacement for Hoopers/Barrelers?

Since the Hoopers and Barrelers class aren't comparable to Gamblers, no there won't be any fill ins allowed.

Hoopers and Barrelers can also be VT, so that helps the situation a bit.

In the beginning, no.

But, it's very possible it could in the future.

The response to Gamblers in 2018 was incredibly good, so we're pretty positive that it will have a large presence in NADAC going forward, but we don't want to jump in feet first until it's been out in the world for a bit.

But there are definitely some tentative plans for it becoming a replacement for Hoopers in regards to the All Around awards, just depends on how the first year goes.

I never understood hoopers, but have come to value and love the class.  It's a wonderful flatwork course for path work and distance skills.  Basically, I would hate to see it go away.

So this is still considered a jumping class, correct? So this can't be added unless you give up another jumping class?

Thanks Cathie Cage
