Pre-trial and side-runs
« on: September 02, 2019, 04:43:55 PM »
I'm really excited that Champs are just around the corner. Do you know yet when the pre-trial runs will start on Tuesday and if there will be a set run order?  I'm trying to decide whether to cancel a class I typically teach on Monday evenings!

Also, I was speaking with a friend today who occasionally does NADAC.  She was thinking of doing some side runs Thurs-Sat.  Will there be day of show entries or would she need to sign up ahead of time?

I'm asking here because I'm probably not the only person who is thinking about these things!  Thanks:)

Now that we've got a decent idea of entry numbers we are going to work on the schedule.   We don't have a ludicrous amount of runs this year, so we can start at a more reasonable time :)
Don't hold me to it, since I need to go through entries still, but we should be able to start at 9AM each day and still be done before 5PM.

We will be taking day of show entries, but it's going to be $15 per run.   So I would really recommend signing up ahead of time :)

Hi Chris:

Regarding the side runs, if I'm understanding how Champs is run, we will only get two runs daily until finals/team on Sunday, correct? If so, is it reasonable to think that I could enter some side runs in between the Champs runs to help calm my dog down a bit?  He is always crazy on the first few runs of the day and sometimes needs a few runs to settle himself and actually LISTEN to me. Thoughts?

Absolutely!

I would highly recommend entering in advance if you have an idea of what you are wanting to do.

There will be day of show entries allowed this year, but it's going to be $15 per run.   So entering ahead of time is a good idea if possible :)

Side Runs: how are they going to be scheduled?

As in, will there be a set time to do each level then the course changes?

I'm thinking about trying to pick up a few Elite Jumpers q's but of course wouldn't want them to interfere with my Champs runs.

I thought this information was in an email or here somewhere, but I can’t seem to find it. What is the deadline for entering pre-trial and side-runs? (Not the “day of” entry)
Thanks,
Diane

Side runs will be a block of time.

So a course will be set in the AM, and will be open for four hours.  You can do your runs anytime within that 4 hour window.

Then a new course is built, and repeat for another four hours.

Entries for the Pre-Trial and Side Runs will close on October 1st.   We will be taking DOS, but it's going to be $15 per run, so I really recommend signing up beforehand

one last question regarding side runs- do we need to enter our DOS entries by a certain time in the morning, or can we just walk up and do them throughout the day?

Oh good question!  I was thinking to do DOS on pre-trial if we arrive on time on Wednesday.  But I can't do it until I know when we arrive...

Have run orders for Pre-trial or Side Runs been posted or emailed yet?
Not sure how side-run orders work into the daily schedule during champs?

We just got confirmations for pre trial and side runs sent out today.

The run order should be sent out shortly.

DOS won't be taken once the course is on the ground.   So if we're running it, you can't enter.      Normally I would accept entries even at this point, but with this many people running and this many runs we just can't do it :)

Sounds like from what Chris said that no - you can't enter them now.  But you can enter DOS when you get there as long as it hasn't been set yet.  So depending on what you'd like to run and when you think you will get there - you might find someone else to enter your dogs DOS for you that morning.
