Overall Champs Results - oddity
« on: October 13, 2019, 06:26:40 PM »
Just want to make people aware that the overall results can only be used as a comparison of the dogs that ran in the Finals run today.

The overall results are the total of all 7 runs that a dog did however if you were in the Challenger's run the course was different and many dogs scratched and did not run that run.

If a dog ran in Finals then it is a true comparison of the Overall results for those dogs running in Finals.

Any dog listed at the bottom of a grouping may not have run the 7th run or they ran a 7th run BUT it was a different course.

Are you seeing cumulative scores anywhere yet?
All I’ve seen is the listing by dog, which doesn’t include divisions.

After more analysis of the Overall results, the Total Score for Finalist Dogs is all 7 runs.

For the Challenger dogs their score from that run was not added into the overall results, so if a Challenger dog is above a Finalist dog, that is really an accomplishment.

The overall probably should only have been for the Finalist or put the total after 6 runs for all dogs and also the final total for the Finalist dogs.

I think I’m figuring it out - maybe.  I was curious how far out of finals I ended up - I know it wasn’t much!  So having scores from each round, I should be able to subtract my Challenger round score from my overall, and do the same for the team or two above me, subtracting their finals score , and compare.  Does that sound right,Ed?

I believe if you subtract the Final run score from the dogs that ran finals from their overall then that will be their total for the 6 rounds. The challenger dogs overall is just the 6 regular runs. You do not need to subtract your Challenger score.

Or you could add your Challenger run score to your overall and see how it compare to the dogs that ran Final and their overall score, just be aware the courses were not the same.

I can’t check much right now, Jeff will have to chime in on exactly what is being pulled and displayed on that overall page.

I’ll look into exact numbers when I have a chance :)

Going into my third day waiting for RV repair (I got all the way to Dayton!  Had appt. scheduled for Monday morning...). Had time and WiFi, so:  while it didn’t make sense at first, Ed is correct.
