I'd love to see any Beginner's Agility in northern California or northern Nevada. More EGC too. Perhaps we need ambassadors in different areas to spread it around. As with the forum, there's resistance to change!

And as I was composing this, I see there is some being planned for Mammoth Lakes. Hoorah!

We have been holding a Beginner Agility Trial once per month for the last two months at Agility Junkies. They have become wildly popular with no less than 15 to 18 dogs participating. That number may jump since we began to give out Title Plaques as an award. This is an awesome way to introduce newbies to the fun of competition. We gave away 7 plaques at our second Beginner Trial and many jumped in with both feet to try the BA-2. Come join us in Illinois!

We are planning to have a BA-1 trial (2 rounds) in Mammoth Lakes, CA on July 21st ... we should have the premium on our web site shortly and I'll post here and in the Trials section when it's available!

I am thinking of offering a BA trial this summer in NY... I have a couple of questions:

1) Dogs can only "compete" in one level (ie BA-1) until they get 3 Q's , then they move up?

2) If I am the only evaluator I can only evaluate one level at a given trial...correct?

I'm unclear what a Beginner's Agility test is. Is it a trial with only Novice classes???
Can anyone enter, even with a dog that has been trialing for awhile?

1. correct, they must earn a minimum of 30 points in BA-1 before entering BA-2

2. You could be the evaluator for both BA-1 and BA-2 at the same test.

The BA program is a "Pre-Novice" set of tests........ although with that said, many Elite dogs can't pass the tests! The first test is a stay at the start............ some Elite dogs do fail that test immediately!
