Hey, I just have to say how awesome everyone in NADAC is, from the top down. Despite EVERYTHING 2020 has been throwing at us (COVID-19, wildfires, challenging moves into new homes, unexpected illnesses, ad infinitum) you all have stayed polite and responsive and kind to each other. Just reading through the latest posts this morning was a great example.
It has been so awesome to have the VT options for those of us who simply can't take the risks of getting together with friends no matter how many precautions are taken. We do miss the camaraderie of hanging out with people at trials, but at least we DO still get to play with our dogs (and even get some amazing NATCH ribbons via mail, every once in a while -- woohoo Tux!)
A sleddog competitor friend of mine was sad last night because an upcoming race she was looking forward to had been cancelled. Our own NADAC Championships had to be cancelled this year as well (a wise decision IMHO Chris) but even though we were all disappointed, the decision was made early enough that we could all readjust our plans and thinking, and start looking ahead to 2021. VT options have saved the year (and maybe our sanity) for some of us, and our dogs. I don't know what the equivalent could possibly be for a team of sleddogs.
Anyway, I just was realizing this morning (again) what an awesome group this is and how grateful we are (Mark and Tux, as well as me) to be a part of it. Even if we can't see any of you in person right now. And I had to say this. I love you guys ....
Rock on. Be well. May 2021 be much kinder to us, all around.
