start line.

Is it legal for dog and handler to begin a run from BEYOND the plane of the first obstacle?  hope you can see my attachment.

No it is not allowed. You can do an angled approach, which i do often with one of mine, but you cannot cross the line.

Just to clarify on Robert's response.  The handler can start past the plane of the first obstacle, but not the dog.
