This is the second Beta version of the NADAC Championships Online Scoring Application. Changes to previous modules include a "Delete Dog" function in Entries, a minimum score of 0 so owners can not "owe" NADAC points for a run, and a checkbox has been added for "Regional Winner" to use for determining who has a bye in to the finals.
Modules to be tested:
- Edit Scores - This feature will not be available from the main menu bar - instead it is included through the Admin->Results page.
- Groups - Create / Edit a Groups so dogs can be assigned to the groups when being entered.
- Results - Still in the early 'draft' stage, this page displays overall scores by group and results for each dog by round.
Modules that are not yet functioning:
- Event - Again, all runs will be assumed to be in this event. In the future, Event configuration will filter entries, groups, etc. to the event taking place on the appropriate date.
- Gate - Once all dogs' run records are created, they will assumed to be "In the Chute" for that Round. When the Gate module is written, the Gate Steward will timestamp the dog entering the Chute and the list for scoring will sort in that order.
- Public Displays of Information - Including the Virtual Gate Sheet for each ring, scores for the "current" Round (prior to placements being published), and final results with placements after scores have been reviewed / finalized.
Steps to Take
- Establish Groups - Simple Add / Edit Group function. Any Groups in the table will be available in a Drop-Down for the Group field in Enter Dogs
- Enter Dogs - Include information on the dogs as they are entered for easy identification while scoring and viewing results.
- Configure Rounds - Each Round / Ring combination is considered a "Round". Each Round should be added on the Rounds page and a value assigned to the Base Points. AFTER the base points are assigned, then the Assign Runs process should be initiated. This process creates a "run" record for all the dogs entered ... those records are used to store the dog's score.
- Scoring - After you have run the Assign Runs function, all the dogs for that round will show up as "In the Chute". When you arrive at the Scoring page, you will see a list of all the unscored dogs for the upcoming round. Click to score or scratch each dog and fill out the Scribe Sheet. When you click on Lock In, everything is calculated and stored. You will be returned to the Gate Sheet to select your next dog.
Have fun and "Good Luck!"
